About Butler Country Club

The Butler Country Club is one of the finest eighteen-hole private golf courses in Western Pennsylvania. In 2009 the golf course underwent many improvements and upgrades. All of the greenside bunkers have been completely renovated. The renovations included the removal of old sand, reshaping of the bunkers, the addition of new drains and replacement of new sand. The completion of the greenside bunkers brought about the beginning of the fairway bunker renovations. Every fairway bunker has been completed with new drains, reshaping and replacement of new sand. Another project that has been completed are the new tee complexes on hole numbers 2,4,6,9,10,11,13,15,16 and 17. Additional tee surfaces will be elevated and reworked where needed in the upcoming year. Last was the upgrading of the pump house and irrigation system. This renovation included the building of a new pump house as well as adding a state of the art irrigation system. We are proud to say that all of this progress has taken place with little disruption of play on the course.

The eighteen-hole course plays as far as 6,774 yards and is unlike most in the area as it is easy to walk, with very few hills. At a par 70 from the back tees, the course has a USGA rating of 73.2 with a slope rating of 133. The member tees play 6,422 yards and par is 71. With the addition of numerous forward tees the gold tees play 5,752 yards at par 71 and the red tees play 5,558 yards at par 72. The fairways and greens are Bent Grass.
