Ellis Maples, a protégé of famed designer Donald Ross, designed the golf course. It is rated among the top 25 in the state of South Carolina - an impressive ranking considering the world-class reputation of many courses along the coast.

In 1999, the Club underwent a million dollar plus renovation. This project, completed in 2001, brought all 27 holes up to current USGA tournament standards. The new greens are now planted in Tif-Eagle Bermuda grass. The more than 90 bunkers on the course were rebuilt for better drainage and all teeing areas were leveled and rebuilt as well. The result is a beautiful and challenging golf course, suitable not only for top tournaments, but for the recreational golfer as well.

Our three courses, Ridgewood, Tall Pines, and Lakeside, provide challenges for all levels of golfers. Tournaments can be set up for a fun yet still challenging event playing at 6,000 yards or for the tough and long player at over 7,200 yards. Our courses provide a challenging mixture of long, wide, and tree lined fairways, deep treacherous rough, well-placed bunkers, and undulating fast greens.
