About Maryland Golf & Country Club
We Have Something For Everyone
50+ years in Harford County
The property where Maryland Golf and Country Clubs now calls home was originally owned by Baseball Hall of Famer Lieutenant Colonel Leland “Larry” Stanford MacPhail, Sr., former head of the Cincinnati Reds, Brooklyn Dodgers, and the New York Yankees. In his retirement, he raised horses at his farm, Glenangus, in Bel Air- the current home of the Maryland Golf and Country Clubs.
MGCC remains a private club owned by its stockholder members. In the fall of 1997 the $3.8 million expansion of the member clubhouse began. Over 19,000 square feet of space was added to the now 40,000 square foot clubhouse. Construction was finished in the spring of 1999. Renovations began in the fall of 2006 on what is now the new MGCC Aquatics Center.
Last year we celebrated our 50th anniversary, and the future is brighter than ever! Our golfing, swimming, tennis and social memberships continue to grow. We truly have something for everyone. We are pleased to be the host for many social gatherings including weddings, religious celebrations, conferences, business meetings and more for both members and non-members. We are proud of our heritage and look forward to many more years of providing social and recreation privileges for our members and guests.
By the order of the MGCC Board of Governors May 2012 meeting, the dress code policy to allow appropriate denim in the Bar & Lounge areas in the Clubhouse (not in the main dining and banquet room areas) has been extended year round.
